Aussie Farmers Direct Project Rudolph

Aussie Farmers Direct customers can buy a Project Rudolph Christmas meal box for a family in need.

More than half a million Australians will struggle to put anything on the table this Christmas. According to the Foodbank Hunger Report 2016, 1 in 6 Australians reported experiencing food insecurity in the last 12 months alone. Of the 644,000 people accessing food relief every month, one third are children. In fact, low income and single parent families are the biggest groups turning to charity agencies for assistance.

Aussie Famers Direct in partnership with Foodbank, Australia’s largest hunger relief organisation, have launched Project Rudolph. Aussie Farmers Direct customers can buy a Project Rudolph Christmas meal box for a family in need. For just $45, a Project Rudolph box includes roast meat, carrots, spuds, pumpkin and Christmas cake. Orders will be taken up until the 16th December.

Aussie Farmers Direct and Foodbank will focus on supporting rural and regional communities as people living outside major cities are 11% more likely to experience food insecurity on a regular basis. Foodbank and Aussie Farmers Direct are hoping to distribute over 1,000 Christmas meal boxes this year.
