Boosting Revenue on a Budget: How an Australian Meal-Delivery Service Thrived with our EOFY Service Package

A well-known Australian organic meal-delivery service engaged in Commission Factory’s End of Financial Year (EOFY) service package to support them in growing their affiliate program whilst facing strict budget restrictions.  

Together, significant year-on-year (YoY) revenue increases were generated on the program, demonstrating that investing in performance-based strategies where marketing dollars are spent on initiatives that deliver measurable results.

Background 

Operating in the meal delivery service industry since 2018, our client has become a key player in the Australian meal-delivery market, empowering Australians to achieve optimum health with high-quality, organic, and nutritious meals delivered straight to their doors.  

To enhance their digital and e-commerce presence, they partnered with Commission Factory in 2022 to launch an affiliate program aimed at increasing revenue, reaching new audiences, and educating customers about their unique selling propositions. 

 

The Opportunity 

The meal delivery industry is highly competitive, and despite facing budget constraints, they recognised that by leveraging affiliate marketing, they could maximise their ROI, and achieve their marketing goals in a cost-effective manner. 

They opted into Commission Factory’s EOFY Booster Package —a short-term, cost-effective solution designed to drive sustainable growth and success for brands in a competitive market and fostering their long-term success in the channel.  

 

Solution 

By engaging in Commission Factory’s EOFY service package, the client collaborated with the Client Strategy Team to execute strategies aimed at increasing awareness, site traffic, and sales revenue.  Despite budget constraints limiting their participation in tenancy placements, Commission Factory guided them to leverage other incentives to enhance existing partnerships, initiate new ones, and ultimately increase program performance. 

Key tactics included commission increases (CPA increases) and exclusive couponing as primary engagement methods. These approaches enabled the client to engage with a diverse range of partners from different verticals, successfully onboarding, activating, and optimising them throughout the quarter. Consequently, the program achieved impressive YoY growth across all performance metrics. 

 

Implementation 

During the promotional period, the client successfully secured twelve placements with a diverse range of content, coupons, and loyalty affiliates. Five exclusive coupon codes were also created and assigned to key affiliates. Additionally, seven CPA increases were negotiated in exchange for featured placements, homepage announcements, and sidebar banner ads across various partners in the loyalty, cashback, and coupon verticals. 

Affiliate recruitment and activation were also primary focuses for the quarter.  Commission Factory’s Client Strategy Team actively recruited partners across all key affiliate verticals, initiated conversations with new-to-market and new-to-network partners, and conducted GAP analyses to identify new opportunities by comparing partnerships with competitors. 

 

 Results 

Impressive year-on-year (YoY) growth was recorded on the program – evident below:

Additionally, the number of click-active affiliates increased to a total of 87, and transaction-active affiliates increased to 22. 

 

Conclusion 

Our client successfully grew their affiliate channel using a CPA-only strategy, demonstrating that strategic knowledge, exclusive coupons, and openness to collaborate with new affiliates can generate significant revenue without a dedicated budget. By leveraging market insights, running targeted promotions, and partnering with a range of existing, new, and different affiliates, they showcased that even with some budget limitations, success is still achievable through innovative and cost-effective methods.
